I’ve eaten unhealthy all my life but now it’s time to turn my life around. How do I go about eating healthy for breakfast , lunch and dinner. How many servings of vegetables and fruits shall I eat. Could I substitiute fruit juice for fruit? What are some healthy alternatives for snacks? Food really isn’t an option I here at college and they have all sorts of food options. Even if the main course is unhealthy there still the salad bar and sandwich bar and fruit. So can ya help?

I’m wondering what the prime factor is for a long healthy life.

What has the greater impact – genetics or healthy living? And, do you have a scientific basis for the answer?

I want to start brown bagging everyday but get tired of sandwiches after a few weeks. I need ideas to help me create easy and healthy lunch menus that appeal to adults. I don’t have a lot of time to be in the kitchen cooking either. I need creative ideas.
I want ideas for ADULT lunches.

23yo Mum of 2 asked:

My daughter is 18months and she barely eats anything I give her. I try to cook healthy dishes for her, to feed her fruit and meat and wholegrains but mostly all she will eat it chips, sausage rolls, yogurt and biscuits. How can I force her top eat a wider range of foods? I gave her a sandwich just before with wholemeal bread, ham, tomato and cucumber and she pulled it apart and threw it on the floor. This is making me feel like a bad mother, please help!

How do I motivate my little sister to be healthy and active?

Republican Sense asked:

My little sister is, I admit, chubby. And for the past few months, my whole family and I have been trying to make her eat healthy. She eats huge portions of unhealthy things, very small portions of so-so fruits and veggies, and no downright amazingly healthy foods. The only activity she gets is running up and down the stairs in my house, besides when she goes to dance class or soccer practices/games. Soccer is only during fall and spring, and she just recently decided she’d like to quit dance and take up pottery. She’s starting middle school next week, and I feel horrible for not being able to get my own sister off the couch and excercise. She knows that excercising is good for her, but she doesn’t realize that she doesn’t get enough. I’ve told her this, and she just changes the subject or doesn’t listen. I tried getting her to excercise by offering up five dollars a week, which would up to some cool excercise equipment, like a Bosu ball or a mini-trampoline. Didn’t work. Please help!!
Any ideas for fun activities to do?

How can I get her off the couch in the first place?

What kind of incentives should I offer (no food, trust me, she doesn’t need it)?

I am 15 years old and I am overweigth blah blah blah. I am researching around and looking on how to eat healthy, because frankly, I have been eating hamburgers and chicken nuggets my whole life and I know I need to change. But my parents continue to buy hot dogs and ice cream bars, especially my dad. They are reluctant to change but I want to educate them on how to eat whole grains, vegetables, and friuts instead of all meat.
The problem is that they have to buy the right stuff so that I can eat it, because obviously, I can’t go grocery shopping. My mom is currently on the atkins diets and I’m pretty sure its not working. How can I get her to eat healthy and buy the right stuff.
Kyle S you are not funny and no one is amused. Grow up!
